Maul Captured & Held by Republic Forces

Ursa Wren and Bo-Katan escorting Maul to the Republic cruiser

Falling From Maul’s Battle with Ahsoka & Force-caught
Having fallen from the beams amidst his fight versus Ahsoka at the tail end of the Siege of Mandalore in “The Phantom Apprentice”, Maul is then halted in mid-air by Ahsoka, who Force-catches him, causing him to be reeled in by clone troopers.
While he has been caught by Ahsoka, he says, “Let me go! Let me die!” It seems as if his plans have been dashed and there is no stopping Darth Sidious from carrying-out his plans now that Ahsoka won’t join him in his quest to stop Darth Sidious.

Clone Troopers Tie-up and Stun Maul
While getting captured by clone troopers, he announces, “You’re all going to burn! We’re all going to die! You don’t know what you’re doing!”
Maul is now loudly articulating concern for what will happen to everyone, including the clone troopers and Jedi, which definitely sounds like hyperbole, even for us viewers who know what Darth Sidious will do. However, for the clone troopers, this sounds simply like raving lunacy. To Ahsoka, however, while he seems stark raving mad, he sounds not only truly convicted about what he is screaming, but he is genuinely scared, seemingly causing her reflective pause.

Maul is then stunned and taken into Republic custody on a Republic LAAT gunship and transferred to the Mandalorians to get him into a more secure situation.

Ahsoka Congratulated for Capturing Maul
When landing on the ground alongside the clone troopers at the beginning of “Shattered”, with a knocked-out and bound-up Maul, Bo-Katan approaches Ahsoka and congratulates her: “You actually captured him. I’m impressed.”
Ahsoka: “That is what the council wanted.”
Bo-Katan: “Still, you succeeded where many failed.”
Ahsoka: “I’ve learned from the best, including you.”
Bo-Katan: “I wish I was good at something other than war.” At this statement, Bo-Katan looks out over Sundari, where there has been a lot of destruction of war from the Siege of Mandalore, which Maul was willing to see destroyed in his quest for power.

Subsequently, Ahsoka gets summoned to a hologram meeting with Mace Windu, Yoda, Aayla Secura, and Ki-Adi Mundi, whereupon Mace Windu tells her, “I understand your mission was a success.”
Ahsoka Tano: “Yes, I have Maul in custody. I will escort Commander Rex when he delivers him to Coruscant.”
Yoda: “A great service to the Republic, you have done.”
Clearly, Ahsoka has done something no other Jedi was able to accomplish – the capture of Maul.

Maul Transferred from Ropes Binding Him to Mandalorian Jedi-Containment Chamber
After having removed the ropes binding Maul, the Mandalorians transferred him to a Jedi-containment chamber, with artful decoration on the cover seemingly dating it back to when the Jedi fought the Mandalorians, causing Ahsoka to remark, “Impressive. I suspect even Maul couldn’t get out of there.”
Bo-Katan Kryze: “A relic of a bygone era when Mandalorians had reason to imprison you Force-wielding maniacs.”
Ahsoka: “I thought your sister outlawed such devices.”
Bo-Katan: “She did. This is the last one.”
So, this is a sort of Jedi-containment crate for Force-wielders from which even Maul could not escape.

Maul Transferred to Republic Cruiser
From Ursa Wren and Bo-Katan Kryze escorting Maul in the Jedi-containment chamber to the clone troopers, the chamber is taken up by a shuttle to the Republic cruiser, where it is then escorted down the hallways to a cell for Maul, where a clone trooper locks him and his containment chamber into the cell.
What’s Next?
In the next installment of the Darth Maul project, Maul gets boosted from the containment chamber and his cell by Ahsoka.
