Bad Batch Series Announced!

Announced just an hour ago, the newest Star Wars show will be coming to Disney Plus next year. Star Wars: The Bad Batch will, according to the announcement, “follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.”
Although I am disappointed that this new series won’t show them taking on various missions amidst the Clone War(s), I am still nevertheless excited for what this show brings, as the announcement continues: “Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.”
“While The Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning,” said Agnes Chu, senior vice president of content at Disney+, making it quite clear that The Clone Wars is fully done with. “We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”
The Bad Batch was introduced at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in April 2015 in a four-episode story arc, followed by a release to Star Wars’ website that summer, with an adjusted release of those four episodes this spring to Disney Plus as part of the seventh and final season of Star Wars The Clone Wars. One thing I am curious to see is if they use one of the ideas that was mentioned at a panel discussion at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim with the Bad Batch flying on huge monkeys on Kashyyyk.
There is still much to be told about the Bad Batch and I am super-excited for this upcoming series!
